About Louise
Hi, I'm Louise.
My passion for mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing began in my early twenties, after experiencing several years of anxiety and panic disorder that, at its worst, left me housebound. It was a frightening and confusing time - I didn’t understand what was happening to me. But it was during this period that I first encountered counselling, and that experience sparked a lifelong journey of learning and self-discovery. It also ignited a deep desire to support others in navigating their own challenges.
I see counselling as a collaborative process of exploration and growth. I work with people who are ready to make positive changes and are open to discovering how the counselling journey can help them live more aligned and fulfilling lives.
In our sessions, you lead the way - I walk alongside you. I help shine a light on the hidden areas, offering support, insight, and compassion. Together, we can gently explore how conditioning, false beliefs, unhelpful inner narratives, and the expectations of others may have shaped how you see yourself and the world. Through this process, you begin to peel back the layers, reconnect with your true self, and find the courage to live more authentically.
I’m not here to "fix" you or make your problems disappear - but I can support, validate, and empower you as you build resilience and learn to navigate life in a way that truly resonates with who you are.
I hold a Master of Science (MSc) in Person-Centred Counselling from the University of Aberdeen, a programme accredited by Counselling and Psychotherapy Scotland (COSCA).
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), adhering to their ethical framework and professional standards.
Alongside my private practice, I volunteer as a counsellor with a local charity and work as a Specialist Student Mentor across several Scottish universities, supporting students with their mental health and wellbeing.
I have also been a yoga teacher for over 15 years and am registered with Yoga Alliance UK.
