About Louise
Hi, I'm Louise and I have been passionate about mental, emotional and physical health since my early twenties after suffering for several years with an anxiety and panic disorder which at one point left me house bound. This was a scary time in my life as I didn’t understand what was happening to me, and it was during this time I had my first encounter with counselling which set me on a path of learning and developed my passion for wanting to empower others in their lives.
I see counselling as a process, and I am exited to work with clients who are ready to make positive change and embrace how this process can be beneficial for them.
My clients are empowered by leading sessions as I travel alongside them, shining a light on hidden areas, providing support and understanding as well as offering different insights and perspectives. It’s from this deep exploration where you begin to understand how conditioning, false beliefs, unhelpful internal narratives, and the projection of other people’s values can all have an impact. As you peel away the layers, you begin to understand and connect with who you truly are and gain the courage to live in a way that is authentically you.
I am not here to magic away your problems, but what I can do is support, validate and empower you to become resilient, to understand and solve your own problems in a way that resonates with you.
I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Person-centred Counselling from the University of Aberdeen.
My Diploma is recognised by Counselling and Psychotherapy Scotland (COSCA).
I am also a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
I am currently undertaking my MSc in Counselling, conducting research into personal development and relationships.
In addition to my private practice, I volunteer as a counsellor within a local charity organisation. I am also a Specialist Student Mentor within several Scottish Universities providing support to students.
I have been a yoga teacher for over 15 years and am registered with Yoga Alliance UK.
